4 Days from Fez to Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Early departure from Fez toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. We visit Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the Azrou Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques.

We continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive through the spectacular Ziz Valley, enjoying panoramic views of palm groves and lush oases. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert.

Enjoy a camel ride at sunset across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Dinner and overnight stay at a desert camp (standard or luxury), with Berber music under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Exploration – Khamlia – Nomads

After sunrise in the desert and breakfast, we spend the day exploring the Merzouga region by 4×4 vehicle.

Visits include:

• Berber nomadic villages

• Oases and local mines

• The village of Khamlia, famous for its Gnawa music

• Desert landscapes of golden dunes and black volcanic terrain

Free time in the afternoon to relax or enjoy optional activities such as quad biking or buggy rides in the dunes.
Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or desert camp in Merzouga.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we depart for Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet and an important traditional trading center. We then continue to the impressive Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs, perfect for walking and photography.

We proceed through the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and adobe kasbahs.
Dinner and overnight stay at a traditional hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, we travel along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, with a stop to visit the Taourirt Kasbah.

We continue to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking views, before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon.
