3 Days in the Desert from Fez to Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Early departure from Fez heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” thanks to its alpine-style architecture and clean atmosphere.

We continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaques.
Afterwards, we drive to Midelt, located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where we stop for lunch.

The journey continues through the spectacular Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm groves, before reaching Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert.

In the afternoon, enjoy a camel trek at sunset across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Traditional dinner, Berber music, and overnight stay in a desert camp (standard or luxury).

Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness the unforgettable sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4.

We then travel to Erfoud, famous for its fossils, and continue to the breathtaking Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon with towering rock walls. Free time to walk and take photos.

In the afternoon, we head to the Dades Valley, passing through oasis landscapes and Berber villages.
Dinner and overnight stay in a charming hotel or riad.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we follow the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara.

We visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most important monuments.
After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying panoramic views along the way.

Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon. Transfer to your accommodation and end of the tour.
