3 Days in the Desert from Fez

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Early departure from Fez heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and peaceful atmosphere.

Next, we visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaques.
We then continue to Midelt, located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where we stop for lunch.

The journey continues through the stunning Ziz Valley, renowned for its palm groves and oasis landscapes, before arriving in Merzouga, at the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

In the afternoon, enjoy a sunset camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Traditional dinner, Berber music, and overnight stay in a desert camp (standard or luxury).

Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Exploration – Nomads & Oases

After enjoying sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, we spend the day exploring the Merzouga Desert by 4×4 vehicle.

Highlights include:

• Berber villages and nomadic communities

• Hassi Labied Oasis

• The seasonal Merzouga Lake (depending on the time of year)

• Khamlia, famous for its traditional Gnawa music

In the afternoon, free time to relax or enjoy optional activities such as quad biking or buggy driving in the dunes.
Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or desert camp in Merzouga.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez

After breakfast, we begin our return journey to Fez, once again crossing the scenic Ziz Valley, with panoramic stops for photos along the way.

We stop in Midelt for lunch, then continue through Ifrane before arriving back in Fez in the late afternoon.
Transfer to your accommodation and end of the tour.
