4 Days from Fez to the Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Midelt

Morning departure from Fez, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and peaceful atmosphere, and visit the Azrou Cedar Forest, where Barbary macaques live freely.

We continue to Midelt, a town located between the Middle and High Atlas, famous for its mountainous landscapes.
Dinner and overnight stay at a traditional hotel in Midelt.

Day 2: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we head south, crossing the Ziz Valley, one of the largest palm valleys in Morocco, with panoramic stops for photos.

We pass through Erfoud, known for its fossils and marble, and arrive in Merzouga, at the gateway to the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, we enjoy a camel ride at sunset through the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Arrival at the desert camp, followed by a traditional dinner, Berber music, and an overnight stay under a star-filled sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Desert Exploration

After enjoying sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring the desert by 4×4 vehicle.

We visit:

• Berber nomadic communities

• Palm oases and traditional irrigation systems

• The village of Khamlia, famous for its Gnawa music

• The seasonal Merzouga lake (depending on the time of year)

In the afternoon, free time to relax or enjoy optional activities such as quad or buggy riding in the dunes.
Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or desert camp in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fez

After breakfast, we begin the return journey to Fez, once again crossing the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Stop in Midelt for lunch and free time before continuing to Fez, arriving in the afternoon.
Transfer to your accommodation and end of the tour.
